My laptop screen is broke help!?

The screen is totally broken. I need to get a lcd screen replacement before my classes start at the college. I’m to broke to spend big bucks to get stuff replaced so my question is… Does it really matter what kind of brand I get just as long as its the right size?

This is a used computer so I have no warranty or noting on it. I just wanted to know if its possible to get a cheap lcd screen that fits on my laptop and swap them out to get me back on track for school to start. I am now having to use my old monitor for a screen and I don’t want to be carrying a big monitor while I go in and out of class lol
I don’t want to get a replacement laptop. I like this laptop because it have great parts put in to it. Its somewhat customized.

Alienware Laptop Screen is Dead?

I’m situated in Australia and I received an Alienware “Area -51 m9750″ laptop with the default 17” widescreen LCD display.

After opening the box I removed the laptop from the casing and inserted the battery (which was packaged seperately). The screen didn’t power on but I put it down to lack of power and charged the laptop for multiple hours, trying to power on in regular intervals.

The laptop was not packaged with instructions (nor did the package hold the t-shirt or 1GB Alienware flash drive that was on the invoice). The only modification from the default build was a larger HDD.

I called Alienware on 1300 794 003. The phone is repeatedly answered by people not associated with Alienware, telling me they can take my message and get back to me. I have left a message.

What do you suggest? Online Alienware tell you how to take apart your laptop and reseat the LCD connector but I don’t want to void warranty, especially on such an expensive laptop that I only just received.

My laptop screen wobbles

I have an HP Pavillion DV9500 laptop that literally JUST expired from its one year warranty and I realize now that I should have sent it in last month. Nothing is wrong with it internally, however the screen is annoyingly loose and wobbly! It sways back and forth too easily (within a space of one or two inches before coming to a stop at an angle that is too big or too small) and it won’t stay in place if I move it too much. This is a slight annoyance to me that has been happening for I guess a few months.

Essentially, it will not stay at a 90 degree angle without some manipulation….
How can I tighten the hinges without hurting the laptop?
Well I would use a screwdriver…if I knew where to use it is the problem!

What should I use to clean my laptop monitor screen?

Toshiba Laptop Screen Problem?

I have this Toshiba laptop that i bought last year around the end of december, well anyways it never caused me any problems untill this morning when i wanted to use it. well the screen was completely black and the keyboard wasnt reponding at all but my laptop was still running. iv try restarting it many times but no good. the screen still is black.

I just want to know if there is anything i can do to fix it and i want to know what seems to be the problem. is it the backlight inverter or did my screen break? or if this is some sort of virus
Thank you for any help

What type of laptop should i get?

I am starting college in the fall and I need a reliable laptop to use. I’m looking for somthing with wireless internet, a decent amount of memory, somthing that can burn CD’s and plays DVD’s, and somthing that I wont go insane over it being slow. I don’t do any sort of gaming so no need to bother with that. Just looking for something that wont break easily. If you guys could give me some ideas that would be great.
Please dont break my budget…. which isnt much. I’m buying off of Ebay as is.

why is my laptop screen (LCD)all white and nothing readable. could it be the video card?

Where could i find a quality laptop for a cheep price?

I am looking at a laptop for surfing the internet and games mostly.

What new computer should i buy? Laptop or desktop? Vista or XP? Can my old windows 98 programs run?

I want to spend around $1000 AUD. I really dislike working on laptops but can i plug in my keyboard and monitor anyway? What sort of software packages come with new computers?
