I’m situated in Australia and I received an Alienware “Area -51 m9750″ laptop with the default 17” widescreen LCD display.
After opening the box I removed the laptop from the casing and inserted the battery (which was packaged seperately). The screen didn’t power on but I put it down to lack of power and charged the laptop for multiple hours, trying to power on in regular intervals.
The laptop was not packaged with instructions (nor did the package hold the t-shirt or 1GB Alienware flash drive that was on the invoice). The only modification from the default build was a larger HDD.
I called Alienware on 1300 794 003. The phone is repeatedly answered by people not associated with Alienware, telling me they can take my message and get back to me. I have left a message.
What do you suggest? Online Alienware tell you how to take apart your laptop and reseat the LCD connector but I don’t want to void warranty, especially on such an expensive laptop that I only just received.
