My laptop screen is broke help!?

The screen is totally broken. I need to get a lcd screen replacement before my classes start at the college. I’m to broke to spend big bucks to get stuff replaced so my question is… Does it really matter what kind of brand I get just as long as its the right size?

This is a used computer so I have no warranty or noting on it. I just wanted to know if its possible to get a cheap lcd screen that fits on my laptop and swap them out to get me back on track for school to start. I am now having to use my old monitor for a screen and I don’t want to be carrying a big monitor while I go in and out of class lol
I don’t want to get a replacement laptop. I like this laptop because it have great parts put in to it. Its somewhat customized.

Just buy a used laptop that’ll get you through, doesn’t have to be special.

Laptop screens are designed for that brand, and usually model specific, of computer (usually different connectors, power usages, mountings, etc.) so compatibility is a big issue, but I’m sure there are some out there that are the same, but no way of telling. So buying any other computer make and model screen would probably be a waste of time and money. Best to buy a used laptop (maybe one that doesn’t work but the screen is still good) of the same make and model as yours and have someone swap out the screen for you. Check your local paper, craig’s list, ebay, used computer stores, etc…

    Best of luck.
