I have an HP Pavillion DV9500 laptop that literally JUST expired from its one year warranty and I realize now that I should have sent it in last month. Nothing is wrong with it internally, however the screen is annoyingly loose and wobbly! It sways back and forth too easily (within a space of one or two inches before coming to a stop at an angle that is too big or too small) and it won’t stay in place if I move it too much. This is a slight annoyance to me that has been happening for I guess a few months.
Essentially, it will not stay at a 90 degree angle without some manipulation….
How can I tighten the hinges without hurting the laptop?
Well I would use a screwdriver…if I knew where to use it is the problem!

A screwdriver?
(I’m serious)
Edit: Okay then, here’s a link to a video to tighten it

Also check this, maybe this only works for Dells

Locate the screws of your laptop to determine if they are the source of the problem. Shake your laptop gently and see if the screws also move in and out. If it moves, you just need to tighten those mini things in your laptop. Just carefully screw in the screws. Hope this will help.
