Web pages and everything in this computer is small. You can barely read the words or see the pics. It was normal size until we got the hard drive wiped out and started over. How can I permanently have everything bigger without using a magnifier from the computer?

Hi. I’m looking to buy a new laptop while stock take sale is on.
My budget is around $1000.00.
So far, from looking around quickly, average seem to be 2GB RAM, 320GB with Vista Home Premium. ($997-$1198)
I was told at JB HIFI that Acer break and is unreliable.
I would like to know if there’re any other brands I should avoid and what else I should be looking for to get most out of my laptop.
I don’t know much about computer, so I don’t even know what makes computer run faster. (more GB? RAM? ???)
For now, Compaq Presario CQ60-302AU from Harvey Normal, 2.1GHZ, 4GB RAM, 320GB for $997.00 seem like a good contender.
Any suggestion or advise is greatly appreciated!

Empire Total War is a computer game I’ve been waiting for for a while. I’m looking for a laptop that can pay the game on atleast medium settings.
The minimumspecs are:
2.4 Ghz processor
256 MB video card
1 GB RAM XP / 2 GB Vista
Would anyone recommend a laptop that fits these specs and preferably has a GeForce graphics card (not necessary though)?

I would mainly just be using it for at home stuff, a little bit of work stuff. But mainly to go on the net, store photos, use itunes and then eventually take it overseas with me and travel with it.
For example, i was typing a report yesterday and all of a sudden the screen went black, but power button was still on, i had to hold the power button to restart computer and then everything was restored, but this has happend a few times and its BRAND new. Any ideas?
The hibernation and sleep modes are set to go off after a long period of time, and this blackness comes on radomly while im in the middle of typing sometimes.

i have an IBM t41 and the screen is not working well, it either turns on and then freezes and skips continuously, or doesn’t work at all, i think it has to do with the angle that i sit the screen and it can sometime work depending on angle, i’ve run the laptop through my PC screen and it works fine, does anyone know whats gone wrong and how much it will cost to fix?
